Time To Rig The Flatstalker for Coastal North East Striper Fishing and bass fishing the many lakes in southern New Jersey
Information Water Sports West Authorized Reseller of the Flatstalker
What is a Flatstalker?
Flatstalker is the smallest, lightest, shallowest, most portable, easy-to-use, most versatile “Micro Flats Skiff” on earth. It is so small, you can load it up inside your normal Flats Skiff and take it with you for access to areas even the shallowest boat can’t reach. Flatstalker is a patented stand-up, self-powered fishing and hunting craft that allows the fisherman or hunter to “stand up” and see where the fish and game are located. It works on any calm to moderate water anywhere in the world and surprisingly has great rough water capability as well. Adding the stainless trolling motor mount and a small 12 volt motor gives the Flatstalker more range than ever and requires little effort to get to and from the fish. Flatstalker will get you to the shallowest water without the hazards and difficulty of wading. It will float you silently over deep-water lakes or steadily through moderate river rapids.

Inventor Roy showing just how easy it is on a FlatStalker
Great for stock tanks or creeks and streams, the Flatstalker may be the only craft you need to get fish and game every time! Many of our customers call it “walking on water”. It is a truly unique feeling. The inventor, Roy Sanders, says, “The Flatstalker is constantly being compared to a kayak or canoe. One look at the Flatstalker should tell anyone that Flatstalker is no kayak or canoe. It’s much more related to high tech flats skiffs that are popular today. Poling skiffs have become the norm in fly fishing. Flatstalker takes the beauty and usability of a normal flats skiff and adds the advantage of being able to paddle in the shallowest of areas with a two blade paddle, pole, or troll in the shallowest areas. It is also way more comfortable and easier to fish or hunt on than any kayak or canoe ever made. Flatstalker offers hours of fishing and hunting pleasure without the discomfort of fishing out of other paddle craft. The clean lines and flat deck prevent getting caught up and tripping over the cluttered design of other paddle craft. I wanted to stop wading and tromping around in the mud, oyster reefs, stingrays, bull sharks, alligators or anything else that might ruin a great trip on the water. A kayak or canoe didn’t keep me from wading as I couldn’t sit in these craft all day. Eventually, I had to get out into the mud and wade pulling my kayak behind me. Yuk! Kayaks and canoes are paddle craft that you can fish out of. Flatstalker is a fishing and hunting craft that you can paddle. Different tools for different activities. I came up with a better plan for enjoying a day on the flats for fishing and hunting.
Since building my first Flatsalker, I have only worn waders one time in 2 1/2 years.
- No need for those uncomfortable waders because I always stay dry on my Flatstalker.
- No more back pain from sitting in an uncomfortalble position. No more numb butt and legs.
- No more sitting sideways on my yak to keep it drifting straight. The Flatstalker drifts in the perfect attitude for fishing.
- No more missing fish because I couldn’t see them.
- No more laying backwards to fight fish because I couldn’t swing my yak around fast enough when fish run behind me.
- No more catching my fly line on stuff around me or having to pull the fish up in my lap.
- No more problems paddling against the wind because I just turn on my trolling motor and relax.
- No more having to get off my yak to reach my equipment. I have effectively replaced wade fishing in every environment.
- No more crunch factor scaring off those monster trout.
Flatstalker is the most ultimate flats fishing tool you could ever own. It will change your fishing and hunting life on the water forever. Pick up a Flatstalker at one of our dealers today and fish erect.”
Roto mold and “Suction Hull” technology
Roto molding by Den Hartog Industries in Hospers, Iowa helps us make a high quality, cost effective product with some incredible features. The foam filled polyethylene craft itself weighs just less than 80 lbs and the removable console 40 lbs. The unique console has 3-rod storage, storage drawer for tackle and a larger cooler, live well or storage box on top and is made to stand on if you have that ability. The deck has plenty of room for up to 3 large ice chests and a live well to boot! The single person Flatstalker is 11? long, 35? wide and 6.5? thick. These dimensions were carefully chosen during testing to provide use to the largest audience possible. With future plans for a 2 person and a smaller more portable unit, Flatstalker is set to provide fun for all types of people with all types of intentions for its use. The “Suction Hull” has scalloped indentions on the bottom that act as “suction cups” to hold the edges of the craft down on the water when moving about the sides of the craft. These indentions make the Flatstalker harder to roll or flip than just about any other single hull craft anywhere. It really works!! With a variety of colors to choose from Flatstalker is great for everyone. Throw in a Custom Sized Stiffy Paddle , Stainless Motor Mount and the required Coast Guard equipment for your state and go have fun on the water.
Transportation
The Flatstalker, although a little heavier than other paddle craft, is easy enough to transport in a variety of ways. We have learned how not to carry the craft ourselves and will shortly have video on the site showing just how easily to move the Flatstalker. Flatstalker travels well on roof racks, pick-up beds, trailers, RV’s and also in your boat. If you need to transport it across some distance on land, there are a variety of carts that work well with Flatstalker.
If you love to have fun on the water then Flatstalker is for you. Flatstalker comes in a variety of affordable packages depending on options, so contact one of our dealers today for information on demos and events so you can stand tall on your new Flatstalker. Walk on water with the Flatstalker. See you on the water!
